Privacy Policy
Last updated 2 November 2026
This policy explains what information the bakers-arms.com website collects, why, and what you can do about it. The website is run for The Bakers Arms, 140 Monmouth Road, Dorchester, DT1 2DH, by our web developer, Connect Dorset.
Contact form
When you send us a message, we collect your name, email address and message so we can reply. Your message is delivered to us by email using Cloudflare's email service. We keep messages only as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry.
To stop spam, the form uses Cap, a privacy-friendly check that runs in your browser. It does not track you across other websites.
Signing in
Signing in is for pub staff who manage the website. If you sign in with an email and password, or with Google, we store your name, email address and a record of your sign-in sessions in our account system, which is hosted by Connect Dorset. When you use Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. We do not get your Google password or access to anything else in your Google account.
Signing in stores a session token in a cookie or your browser's storage to keep you logged in. It is removed when you log out or the session expires.
Visitor statistics
We use Umami, hosted by Connect Dorset, to count page visits and see which parts of the site are used. It does not use cookies and does not identify you personally.
Things stored in your browser
If you close the Monday Nights offer pop-up, your browser remembers that so it is not shown again. This stays on your device and is not sent to us.
Other services on our pages
Some parts of the site load content from other companies, which will see your IP address and may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies:
- Google Maps, for the map and directions links
- YouTube, for the video on the home page
- Fontshare, for the fonts used on the site
Links to Facebook and Google Maps open those sites, where their own policies apply.
Sharing your information
We do not sell your information or use it for advertising. We only share it with the services listed above, which help us run the website.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how we use it. To make a request, use the contact form or write to us at the address above.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update it here and change the date at the top.
